Yomi Omogbeja – Publicity Secretary (2018/2020)

Yomi Omogbeja is the Publicity Secretary of the FGC Idoani Alumni Class of 1990.

Yomi is the Editor-in-Chief of Athletics.Africa – Africa’s first dedicated track and field website, which was set up in 2004.

He holds a Masters degree in Sports Psychology from the University of Ibadan (2002); MA in Web Journalism from the University of Sheffield (2004); NCTJ UK Law for Journalists certification in 2005; and an Executive Masters in Olympic Studies from the German Sport University in Cologne (2019).

Yomi was awarded the Highway Africa innovation award for journalism in 2011, and was also a finalist at the 2004 Press Gazette UK Student Online Journalist of the Year awards.

With over 15 years experience as an Athletics journalist, Yomi has provided reports from IAAF World Cross Country championships Edinburgh 2008; IAAF World Indoor Championships Doha 2010, Sopot 2014, and Birmingham 2018; Olympic Games London 2012; and IAAF World Championships Moscow 2013, Beijing 2015, and London 2017 to mention a few.
